Music Monday

In the mail last week, I received a $25 iTunes gift card which I was very happy to spend almost immediately. Of course I had certain things that I knew I needed in my library, but I didn't want to miss out on anything that I might not have thought of or known about. So I texted my friend who has almost identical taste as I do in music and asked him what songs I should purchase. Almost immediately I get a text back with this song so I listened to the little 30 second preview, purchased it, and have been playing it non-stop ever since. This song is so inspiring and just makes you want to be a great person. K'naan is from Mogadishu, Somalia and lived there during a war so you can imagine where the inspiration and lyrical genius comes from. Now a resident of Canada, he got to perform during the Olympics and I think his popularity will only increase from here. If you want to learn more about him, visit his website!
